Installation

Close your DAW before installing or updating PhaseLock. This prevents the host from keeping an older plugin file open.

macOS

The macOS installer contains universal builds for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It supports macOS 11 or later.

  1. Open the PhaseLock .pkg installer.
  2. Select the formats used by your DAW:
    • AAX for Pro Tools
    • Audio Unit (AU) for Logic Pro and GarageBand
    • VST3 for hosts such as Ableton Live, Cubase, Reaper, and Studio One
  3. Complete the installer. macOS may ask for an administrator password because audio plugins install in system plugin folders.
  4. Open your DAW and allow it to scan new plugins.

The installer places the formats in these standard locations:

AU/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components
VST3/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3

The AAX version requires Pro Tools 2023.6 or later.

Windows

PhaseLock supports 64-bit Windows 10 and later.

  1. Open the PhaseLock .exe installer.
  2. If Windows SmartScreen displays Windows protected your PC, click More info, then Run anyway.
  3. Approve the administrator prompt.
  4. Select VST3, AAX, or both.
  5. Complete the installer, then restart your DAW.

The installer uses the standard system locations:

FormatLocation
AAXC:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins
VST3C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3

Finding PhaseLock in the DAW

PhaseLock appears under Jelly Audio > PhaseLock in hosts that organize plugins by manufacturer. Other hosts list it alphabetically as PhaseLock.

If it does not appear:

  1. Quit and reopen the DAW.
  2. Confirm that you installed the correct format for that DAW.
  3. Run the DAW’s plugin rescan or plugin-manager refresh.
  4. See Troubleshooting for host-specific checks.

Updating or reinstalling

Quit all DAWs and run the newer PhaseLock installer. The installer replaces the installed plugin formats. You do not need to remove the previous version first unless Jelly Audio support asks you to.

After updating, open a session and confirm that the PhaseLock window reports the expected version. If the DAW still loads an older version, perform a full plugin rescan.
